wife thinks he is a bore, “shatteringly, profoundly boring (and perhaps he is) and socially inept. Charlie

Betty Meeks:
“Bet” to her friends, 70s, a “regular chatterbox.” Seventy- plus years old.
Owner and proprietor of the inn. “Wise about some things, naïve about others, a no-nonsense
person, but kind and genuinely concerned for her friends. LEAD
Catherine: A formidable young lady.
20s – early 30s. A “looker” and a flirt . Ellard’s sister.
She is engaged to Reverend David. She comes from a wealthy family. LEAD
